Purse Album

Hi everyone,

I was asked by a co-worker to create a scrapbook album for someone we work with who is leaving to study for another career.

This person is a bling, glam and girly-girl human so no way could I just make a simple scrapbook!

Check out the Purse Album!

This project is now in my top 10 of fav's! I didn't have a pattern but I did watch a few you tube video's of similar nature.

Paper line is Echo Park, Fashionista Collection

Check out this you tube video to see the inside!

Moving forward with the times

After folks and HAPPY MOTHER's DAY!!

After much thought I've decided to not post in this forum any longer...at least for the next several months.

The traffic here is not large as most use instagram and facebook as avenues to view and comment on projects posted.

I was finding myself using a lot of time and energy in building posts unnecessarily.

I will leave this site up in case anyone wants to come by to view any past projects or posts.

If by demand there is a need to revert back I'll let you know.

So for now please make sure you follow me on facebook  and or Instagram.

Young Love

Today is all about that special someone in your life. Using the paper line Rossibelle from Prima it is very easy to create "love art".

The rose gold on the paper adds a shimmer and shine which highlights the photo.

Our son Joshua and his special someone, Evelyn

Additional details with die cut butterfly, stitching and some fussy cutting. Edges frayed slightly and inked with black soot.

Celebrating Graduates from StFX University

Have someone special celebrating graduation at StFX this year? I have just the card for you!

These cards were created using a total of  7 different die cuts, some cut multiple times and stacked, some cut from more then one element and then stacked. These types of cards are time consuming to make but well worth it in the end result! There is lots of dimension and texture that can't be shown from a photo.

Limited supply available so come to the Antigonish VON office (behind the Mall) to get yours before they are gone. Open from Mon-Fri 830-430 (closed from 12-1 for lunch).

I currently donate all the cards to the VON Community Support Programs so 100% of the proceeds go back into the community. Cards are $3.00 (includes envelopes) or 2 for $5.00.

Watercolor Cards

I never would have dreamed Tim Holtz could make distress inks even more appealing then they already were, but he did!

The new distress inks are super reactive when water is applied and they make doing watercoloring cards so easy! All you need is the ink, a stamp with open spaces and a brush with water.

  1. Apply a thick layer of ink
  2. Use a water proof ink like versa ink and stamp an image
  3. Using a brush apply water where you want to lift the color and viola!

Alcohol Ink Play!!

I LOVE alcohol ink and the way no two backgrounds are the same even when you use the exact same inks.

There is so many different ways to use alcohol inks which aren't new but sometimes we need a little reminder that we have these awesome goods in our stash. And if you don't have them in your stash, I highly recommend them!

I've recently spent a day do 12 different backgrounds using alcohol inks and yupo paper. Yupo paper is a synthetic paper that is coated, flexible and extremely difficult to tear. What makes it nice when using alcohol inks is the drying time is extended so you can manipulate the ink to make cool looks.

Jennifer Mcguire is an industry guru. Paper crafting is her full time job and she is on top of the newest, hottest trends as well as she is a great resource for tips, how-to videos and a fair critic in the products out there. This idea is one of hers and I will place her link below.

Hello Beautiful

This layout features the paper line from Simple Stories called "Hello Beautiful" and I felt it match our beautiful daughter very well with the colour pallet of soft pinks, greys, mint green and gold accents.

Lots of sewing with gold thread, fussy cutting around the flowers and popping them up, added some feathers for that romantic feel.

Products used:

Simple Stories paper line, Hello Beautiful; Bo Bunny Double Dot Vintage card stock, Shadow; Magenta doily stencil and paste; Spell Binder Feather die; Nuvo drops, Coral Galypso and Spring Green.
