Watercolor Cards

I never would have dreamed Tim Holtz could make distress inks even more appealing then they already were, but he did!

The new distress inks are super reactive when water is applied and they make doing watercoloring cards so easy! All you need is the ink, a stamp with open spaces and a brush with water.

  1. Apply a thick layer of ink
  2. Use a water proof ink like versa ink and stamp an image
  3. Using a brush apply water where you want to lift the color and viola!

Alcohol Ink Play!!

I LOVE alcohol ink and the way no two backgrounds are the same even when you use the exact same inks.

There is so many different ways to use alcohol inks which aren't new but sometimes we need a little reminder that we have these awesome goods in our stash. And if you don't have them in your stash, I highly recommend them!

I've recently spent a day do 12 different backgrounds using alcohol inks and yupo paper. Yupo paper is a synthetic paper that is coated, flexible and extremely difficult to tear. What makes it nice when using alcohol inks is the drying time is extended so you can manipulate the ink to make cool looks.

Jennifer Mcguire is an industry guru. Paper crafting is her full time job and she is on top of the newest, hottest trends as well as she is a great resource for tips, how-to videos and a fair critic in the products out there. This idea is one of hers and I will place her link below.

This stamp and die set lets you do so much with just a few products. I picked up this set at Maple Syrup Designs.
